Fishing Country With Charlie Pack
I'm a Crappie!
There are certain phrases, little jokes or sayings you will hear Charlie Pack
utter during
Fishing Country with Charlie Pack.  We call them Charlieisms.
They might require a little background or explanation when taken out of
context (as here) but they are always distinctly Charlie. They appear here in
no particular order, but in updated versions of this page, newer entries will
come first.

"Doodle-sock."
   Popping the cork up and down with your line and rubber band or                 
    bobber stoper with a Pack's Pole, to entice the crappie to strike.

"Chugging."
   Repeatedly tugging your line to make your cork "dance" across the             
    water when crappie fishing with a Pack's Pole.

"That's my catch-and-release."
   Said when a fish gets off the hook at the water's surface,
   or before it gets in the boat.
  

"Guide Strike."
   When the man on the front of the boat sets the hook, but misses                 
    the fish. Meant to imply there was no strike.
     

"He's doing his Bill Dance."
   Said when a fish jumps at the water's surface.              

"Those fish have Lockjaw."
   The fish are not biting.

"Trash Fish."
   Bass when you're fishing for Crappie,
   Crappie when you're fishing for Bass.

"I caught a dry land sucker."
   Said when Charlie snags a hook on someone's clothing.

"What's his number, Coach? I'll get him."
   Said when someone says "Get serious."

"I'm just measuring my line."
   Said when Charlie has to pull out a backlash on his reel.

"A Jimmy Houston."
   Another word for Backlash.

"A Bird's Nest."
   Another word for Backlash.
