Bassmaster Classic Champ Alton Jones meets Pres. Bush.
After winning the national championship, frequent "Fishing Country" guest Alton Jones
got an invitation to meet the President at the White House. But that wasn't the first time
they met. Charlie Pack introduced them. But don't take our word for it. Read the White
House web site account for yourself. Check out Alton's personal website for other
accounts of what winning the premiere fishing tournament in the USA was like for Jones.
To celebrate Alton's victory, "Fishing Country" will run episodes featuring Charlie's
fellow Waco angler starting May 10th. Check our Program Schedule page for episode
dates, and our TV Show Page for stations.
Fish Identification
A new guide to identification of fish species in Texas freshwater fisheries.

Charlie Pack will be inducted by the
Texas Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame,
at the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens, Texas.
The induction ceremony and banquet will be held on Saturday,
June 7th, 2008. Charlie covered the grand opening of the
center in November 1996 on "Fishing Country," with an
exclusive interview of then Governor George W. Bush. In the
Hall of Fame, Charlie will join fellow Waco native Earl Golding,
the late sportswriter for the Waco Tribune Herald and inventor
of the Bass Fishing Tournament. To see who else is in the Hall
of Fame click here.
